Want To Make The Concentric Ring Chart Workbook Usable For Yourself And All Personality Types?
These are instructions to change the O*Net Chart from my personal chart to one that will return information on anyone's Interest Profile. There is more than one way to accomplish use of the chart for this goal. And in truth, I would prefer to create an Access database inserting the Excel chart. I believe it would take less time and be less convoluted, but I want to describe alterations that can be made in Excel. Turn the current spreadsheet into an O*Net Interest Profiler for Everyone in the following manner:
1. Create a 'Home' worksheet. 2. Create a form for data entry and place it on the 'Home' worksheet. The Form would include your name and your profile scores. I would make the appropriate arrangements linking cells, etc., so the data will be entered into the chart data area on worksheet 2. a. Or, my preference if this is going to be a simple demonstration.
i. Do not add a 'Home' worksheet.
ii. Lock all of the cells on the sheet with the exception of cells that will be used to
enter a name and scores.
iii. Place a textbox on the sheet to explain where you are to enter your data.
3. Create individual sheets with the various personality types represented in Holland's Theory (RI, IA, AS,SE,EC, CR, RIA, IAS, etc.). 4. Using a mock-up of the page already set for print….copy and paste to each new work sheet. Set the print area for each sheet. Edit the mock up so a name and scores can be entered from Worksheet1.
5. Delete the original mock-up. 6. Research additional data for each personality type. 7. Select a worksheet with a mock-up on it. Rename the worksheet to the personality type desired. Enter the data association with the personality type in the appropriate boxes. 8. Return to the Worksheet1. 9. Insert a column in the table data for a short version of the category name. Type in the corresponding R, I, A, S, E, C. 10. Select a cell. Enter a formula to select the two highest values and return a code of RI, IA, AS,SE,EC, CR. Select a cell. Enter a formula to select the three highest values and return a code of RIA, IAS, etc.. 11. Select two cells and set them to equal(=) the returned values on the for the two and three letter code of the personality type. 12. Insert a button beside each cell that when clicked will hyperlink to the appropriate sheet for the two or three letter personality type. 13. Within that worksheet, (RI, IA, AS,SE,EC, CR, RIA, IAS, etc.), create a button that will retrieve the name and scores from Workshee1 and populate the appropriate areas in the mock-up. a. Alternately you can set the cells in the mock-up to equal(=) the values on Worksheet1 on all of the worksheets, (RI, IA, AS,SE,EC, CR, RIA, IAS, etc.), however I feel this may confuse the person viewing the Interest Profile data should he/she begin clicking on the various worksheet tabs.
