Excel 2013 Milestone Timeline Chart
This Visual Basic (VB) enhanced spreadsheet is designed to be presented to end-users. Users hyperlink through the content to view details of topics covered by speakers at CITPG meetings. Click to download spreadsheet.
The charts were developed from a template located online. Visual Basic script is used to control the hyperlink of two buttons. A third button has a unique, simple, code that controls the location of the button as the mouse is moved to a new cell in the sheet. The button 'floats'. The workbook contains one hidden worksheet. The worksheets are locked, but not password protected.
I considered altering the timeline to display topics at daily intervals, but the even spacing of the data points lent to the readability and did not detract from the message.
